Welcome to LifeFirstNaija – First Responder Trainer

LifeFirstNaija is a nationwide Bystander First Response & Basic Life Support (BLS) training initiative powered by Smiles Network Nigeria. We exist to bridge Nigeria’s critical gap in CPR knowledge, first responder skills, and pre-hospital care, especially in hard-to-reach communities where ambulance coverage and emergency transport are limited.

FEASIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS

Over 50% of deaths in Nigeria are preventable with timely bystander response.
Pilot rollouts in states like Lagos, Kaduna, and Anambra can set scalable precedents.- Leveraging the NYSC structure allows integration into 774 local governments nationwide.
CPR and First Aid kits are affordable to replicate locally.- Schools, churches, mosques, market associations serve as training hubs.
Training content can be adapted for offline modules (radio, print, peer-to-peer).
Social media campaigns and influencer networks can drive participation and trust.
Economic empowerment element (training trainers) can drive local buy-in.
